The research on the health benefit of acai berries has only started in recent years and has a long way to go before all the benefit have been discovered. This is largely due to the fact that the research needs to be done on the freshly picked and living acai. Unfortunately, because the acai palm only grows in South America, all the research has to be done down in the Amazon. This has made it difficult for researchers to find the resources to-do their studies.

Here are some of the acai health benefits already discovered:

-    Soaring Protein levels: The levels of protein are even higher than those in eggs. This makes it a great source of dietary protein. Because this protein doesn’t come from a animal, the levels of dangerous cholesterol are non excitant in acai products. Eating Acai is a great way to get your daily protein, will lowering your cholesterol levels.

-    Antioxidants:  Acai contains more types of antioxidants than any other natural food. This makes a great choice as a all natural alternative to help slow the signs of ageing. Antioxidants have also shown to be helpful in preventing cancers and other serious health problems.

-    Anthocyanins: The same great Anthocyanins found in grapes, are found in acia berries, but in much high level then grapes can produce. Anthocyanins have shown positive health effects against  cancer, Inflammation, Diabetes and bacterial infections.

-    Minerals: Acai has one of the most comprehensive beneficial mineral spectrums of any food. It’s a natural way to get your daily dose of valuable minerals.

-    Trace Elements: Again, acai is one of the most comprehensive sources of these. Trace elements are needed in small amounts for the correct growth and development  of all animals, including humans.
