Hormones can be a problem when it comes to burning fat. For example, all through pregnancy and in mothers who are breast feeding,  estrogen causes fat cells in the body  to enlarge so that they are able to soak up and store more fat. This is why a lot of women put on weight when starting birth control prescription.

Estrogen can also cause weight loss problems in men. The is because of the estrogenic foods they consume in today’s society and ecological pollution.

How Dieting can effects fat burning

Prolonged dieting shuts down the body’s internal metabolism. This make the body go into starvation mode. The body’s current fat cells start distributing still more fat storing enzymes and much less fat burning enzymes. Fat cells start clinging on to the fat they have left, so they don’t die. This cause the body to burn muscle tissue to get the fuel it needs.

After the diet is over and your body is your body is no longer being starved, your metabolism will still not work as fine as before your weight loss diet. This is due to the fact that you have lost some of your muscle. This will in turn make you less active and will cause your body to turn more food into fat, instead of feeding your muscle tissues.

The effects of un controlled dieting on your fat burning system can be everlasting. Although levels will increase somewhat closer to a normal level after the weight loss diet, the fat burning enzymes will forever be at a lower level than before the bad diet. To make things worse these effects are cumulative. So, after ever extreme diet and rebound, it becomes harder to lose fat and to control your weight in the long term.
